About Us

Founded in 2023 by Pastor Jason and Kate Carver, Ephratha House Christian Ministries is a registered 501(c)(3) charity incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania.

Both Pastor Jason and Kate have had a heart for Africa since their youth; they each tried to visit the continent during their high school years, but that door was not yet open to them. Subsequently, God brought Pastor Jason and his wife, Kate, together and gave them a collective heart for African missions.  Jason first visited the African continent in 2019, a trip changed his life forever. He saw for the first time the global nature of the Body of Christ as well as what true poverty looked like.

 During a trip back to Malawi in 2023, Jason and Kate met three small children living in a shed with nowhere to go - doing nothing was not an option. God used that encounter as a calling for them to establish an orphanage there that would be supported by local sustainable agriculture. In obedience to that calling, Ephratha House Christian Ministries was founded and is on its way to embodying the vision that God has for it. Two of the children from that shed reside at Ephratha House today, with the third living with extended family.
